If you have wondered if there is a remedy, the answer is yes there is! To make it easier for you, we have gathered together several other frequently asked questions about non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation.

What Will Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation Do for Me?

A woman’s body can go through many unpleasant changes as it ages if you are postmenopausal or postpartum. Some of the more uncomfortable changes often relate to intimacy and sexual satisfaction. The goal of non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation is three fold:

  • To correct laxity or lack of tightness in the vagina
  • To help with lack of lubrication
  • To improve urinary stress incontinence

As a result, this treatment will improve sensation during intercourse and make it more comfortable. In addition, urinary stress incontinence (uncontrolled leaks that occur when laughing, coughing or doing certain activities) can be reduced or eliminated.

How Does Our Vaginal Therapy Work?

Dr. David provides Viveve vaginal health treatments. This non-surgical approach to vaginal rejuvenation uses RF (radio frequency) electromagnetic waves to heat targeted tissue in order to naturally create more collagen. The applicator also uses cryogen cooling to protect the tissue. It is designed to cool and protect the surface tissue while it heating the deeper tissue for painless and effective results.

The goal of vaginal rejuvenation from Dr. David is to produce more collagen and enhance blood vessels, to encourage tightness, and lubrication. As your body produces collagen, your tissue tightens and strengthens, reducing symptoms of both vaginal atrophy and pelvic floor weakness. The treatment reverses the physical effects of estrogen loss, restoring your vaginal tissue and improving circulation.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

One treatment is all that is needed. Since our bodies continue to change, some women may want another treatment in 1 to 2 years. There is little to no downtime associated with non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation, and in most cases women return home soon after the treatment and go on with their normal day.

There is no pain or discomfort associated with vaginal rejuvenation other than feeling a little warmth in the treated area.

Are there Risks and Complications Possible with Viveve?

Complications are quite rare and there is a very low risk of infection or bleeding.

How Do I Know If I Am a Good Candidate?

The best way to discover if you will benefit from non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation is to schedule a consultation with Dr. David. You will receive a full exam, review of your health history, and a discussion of goals you expect to achieve by completing a vaginal rejuvenation treatment. This is to ensure that your expectations align with the projected outcome. Viveve treatments are suitable for women who have overall good health, but have symptoms, such as vaginal laxity, urinary incontinence, or painful intercourse.
